Streaming

Streaming data is tracked from Friday to Thursday. Playing downloaded tracks is the equivalent of playing CDs you have already purchased and, as such, it does not count as streaming.

Therefore, make sure you continuously stream a song or album while connecting to the Internet. All streaming platforms have their own rules for counting streams. Be sure you know the differences.

As described by Billboard, here are the streaming platforms that will count for charting.

Spotify

Apple Music

Google Play

Amazon Music

Sound Cloud

Pandora

Slacker

Medianet

Napster

Premium or paid subscriptions (e.g. Spotify Premium, Apple Music, Amazon Music Unlimited, Google Play) weigh more than free streaming services (like YouTube, SoundCloud, Pandora) on the Billboard 200 Album chart and Hot 100 singles chart.

It is more efficient to stream with paid services.
